Schindler Marine equipped each ship with sixteen passenger elevators, including six scenic designs, thirteen service elevators, three dumbwaiters, and three platforms for disabled passenger access.

The 158,000 Gross Registered Tons (GRT) ships carry over 4,100 guests based on double occupancy. Royal Caribbean says the ships build on the best ideas of existing ships and add exciting new activities and entertainment concepts.

“At Schindler, we were pleased to work with MEYER WERFT on these Royal Caribbean ships especially in light of the cruise line’s reputation for building such innovative ships,” said Schindler Marine Unit Manager, Fabio Pelliccione. The partnership was an opportunity to combine Schindler’s expertise in marine installations with new technologies developed by Schindler that further improve the elevators’ efficiency while reducing operational costs for the cruise operator.

Schindler Marine’s specialist engineering team was working on the project for over a year developing fully customized solutions to fulfill the customer’s requests.
